Facilitation for Persons with Disabilities

On September 14, 2023, the Applied Psychology Department of NUML Rawalpindi hosted a guest lecture on ‘Facilitation for Persons with Disabilities,’ featuring Mr. Asim Zafar, Manager at HANDS and Secretary of CBID-NETWORKCE Saaya. During the lecture, Mr. Asim dispelled myths about disability and highlighted the barriers faced by persons with disabilities.

He emphasized the role of societal attitudes and infrastructure in limiting their potential, sharing global experiences in promoting inclusion. Practical ideas, such as sign language and avoiding stigmatizing terms, were discussed. Mr. Asim stressed the importance of self-belief and faith as key factors in overcoming limitations, motivating the youth to contribute to a more inclusive society.
