Peak leadership of Japan independent living council from japan and members of Disabled persons organization Milestone visited Saaya on Dec 1st 2015. It was a whole day visit where the whole delegation was briefed about the detailed activities of Saaya sharing the reports and documentations. Some women with disabilities who are actively contributing in the society in different areas of life also got the opportunity to share their experiences with the Japanese delegation.

They had separate sessions where issues related to women rights and participation in the society were discussed. Miss Masami Morigami from JIL shared her experience and the role of women with disabilities in the development of japan which came out to be a very informative session for our female members. Lunch was served and discussions continued while everyone enjoyed the lunch. Later on, the engineer from JIL conducted a very informative session on the development and maintenance of electric wheelchairs where many technical issues were discussed.

Saaya’s mobility workshop team took keen interest in this specific session as we are fully committed to the cause and mobility of persons with disabilities is our major concern. The delegation was highly impressed by the maintenance and record of wheelchairs and the working style of the mobility project.

Later on a desi style live Bar BQ was served for our prestigious guests. Everyone enjoyed the delicious food while jokes and laughs were shared by all the people. In the end the respected JIL members were presented with our local souvenirs as a gift and a beautiful reminder that they were welcome at Saaya.
