Wheelchair Distribution on 18th June, 2015.
Since 2009, Saaya Association Islamabad has embarked on a remarkable journey of empowerment during the holy month of Ramadan. Each year, they organize a special campaign to distribute wheelchairs, bringing mobility and independence to those in need. This year’s focus was on Multan Khurd Tehsil, Talagang District, Chakwal – a 200 km journey from the capital city, Islamabad.
Multan Khurd faces significant challenges, characterized by underdevelopment, illiteracy, and limited access to basic necessities. It is in such communities that Saaya Association’s work has a profound impact.
The event commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, setting a spiritual tone. Community members actively participated, sharing their concerns and experiences regarding people with disabilities. This open dialogue fostered a sense of understanding and collective responsibility.
Asim Zafar, representing Saaya Association, addressed the gathering. He spoke about the association’s mission to improve the social, economic, and cultural well-being of people with disabilities. He emphasized that these initiatives, like the annual wheelchair distribution campaign, are crucial steps towards achieving a society built on equality and respect for fundamental rights.
Saaya Association’s dedication to empowering individuals in remote areas like Multan Khurd is truly commendable. Their commitment to bridging the gap and creating a more inclusive society goes beyond providing wheelchairs – it signifies a journey towards a brighter future for all.
